Expression of Interest - Electrotechnology Testing AAC

The Electrotechnology Testing Accreditation Advisory Committee (ETT AAC) advises NATA on technical issues including electrotechnology testing, electrical appliance performance testing and electromagnetic compatibility testing.

Positions are honorary with the initial term of appointment being five years.  Reappointment for three years may be possible following the initial term. 

The Committee convenes at 12 to 24 month intervals with NATA meeting all costs for travel and accommodation.  It is expected that Committee Members make themselves available to attend all meetings. 

Committee members are appointed for their knowledge and technical expertise.  The duties of a Committee Member include:

  • Review of NATA’s Technical Criteria applicable to electrotechnology testing;
  • Review of assessment reports for applicant and accredited facilities, where required;
  • Provision of advice on technical issues arising from assessment activity; and
  • Review and approval of the appointment of technical assessors.

The ETT AAC is currently seeking expressions of interest to join the Committee from persons qualified and experienced in all areas of electrotechnology testing; particular expertise in the following areas would be an advantage:

  • High Voltage Testing with some knowledge of High Power Industry
  • EMC Testing with some knowledge of EMR measurement
  • Electrical safety testing

Current ETT AAC members holding these positions are able to reapply.

Applicants must:

  • Hold suitable qualifications and have a minimum of 10 years practical experience;
  • Be committed to accreditation and familiar with NATA’s accreditation requirements through either practical experience in an accredited facility or experience as a NATA technical assessor; and
  • Be committed to abide by NATA’s policies, including the need to maintain confidentiality, be objective, act impartially and to declare any conflicts of interest;
  • Prepare for and attend AAC meetings.

Applications will close on 22 August 2019 and will be considered by the current AAC Members.

Final approval of AAC membership rests with the NATA Board.
