Expression of Interest - Inspection Accreditation Advisory Committee

NATA’s Inspection Accreditation Advisory Committee (IAAC) has a vacancy for technical representation and is seeking expressions of interest from individuals with expertise in inspections supporting Australia’s engineering inspections, with particular focus on electrical products and electromagnetic field propagation.

The term of appointment for new members is five years. Existing members may re-nominate and the term of appointment for re-appointments is normally three years. 

AAC members serve on the committee in a voluntary capacity with meetings held approximately every 12-18 months.   

Committee members are appointed for their knowledge and technical expertise. The duties of a Committee Member include, but not limited to:

  • Providing advice on the review of NATA’s Accreditation Criteria applicable to Inspection
  • Review of assessment reports for applicant and accredited facilities, where required
  • Provision of advice on technical issues arising from assessment activity
  • Review and approval of the appointment of Technical Assessors.

Applicants would be expected to have substantial experience within their area of inspection expertise.  In addition, applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the principles of accreditation and practical experience with ISO/IEC 17020 would be considered an advantage.

The closing date for nominations is 31 January 2019.  Successful nominees will be formally invited to participate in the activities of the Inspection AAC following the approval of NATA’s Board.
