The four yearly evaluation of NATA was held on 22 - 27 March 2015. We are proud to announce that NATA's signatory status in the APLAC Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) MRA has been continued for our testing and calibration (ISO/IEC 17025), inspection (ISO/IEC 17020) and reference materials producer (ISO Guide 34) programs and extended to cover our Medical Testing (ISO 15189) and Proficiency Testing Providers (ISO/IEC 17043) programs.
This was confirmed on 6 January 2016 when NATA attended the 36th APLAC MRA Council Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand. This is a major step for NATA and its Medical Testing and Proficiency Testing Provider facilities. This means that ISO/IEC 15189:2012 and ISO/IEC 17043:2010 accreditation granted by NATA to Medical Testing laboratories and Proficiency Testing Providers respectively is internationally recognised. In addition, this recognition ensures the results of activities conducted by these facilities (i.e. pathology test results or proficiency testing programs) can be accepted worldwide.
Please feel free to visit the APLAC website to view NATA’s updated status as an APLAC MRA Signatory for Calibration, Testing, Inspection, RMP, PTP and Medical Testing Accreditation and the ILAC website to view NATA’s updated status as an ILAC MRA Signatory for Calibration, Testing, Inspection and Medical Testing Accreditation.
